Shared Connections (May – July 2019)

Brisbane City Council’s Indigenous Art Program 2019.

This year’s exhibition explores the theme of Shared Connections. It offers opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of Australia’s First Nations’ people.

“We are proud to be the longest continuing culture on the planet. Unfortunately colonisation interrupted our cultural practices, particularly on the east coast of Australia. We as a community are relearning, regenerating and reinterpreting our identities through new mediums that reflect our past, present and future.

Shared Connections aims to educate the wider community and present an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our resilience, fortitude and progression.”  (Blaklash Projects, exhibition curators).
